general
In chronic recurring skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, flare-ups are characteristically followed by periods of time with little or no skin lesions. During these asymptomatic periods, skin care is often neglected. The importance of applying skin care products and moisturisers, even when there are little or no skin lesions present, cannot be stressed enough. An adequate skin care may extend asymptomatic intervals and prevent or diminish relapses. In the following recurring skin diseases, the use of appropriate skin care products in inapparent stages may affect the course of disease favourably.
